Repair of building G-102

Building G-102 is being reconstructed for employees' social needs. Up-to-day social rooms (cloakrooms and bathrooms) did not meet standards in force, therefore decision about their total modernization was taken. Works carried out right now are bound with roof repair and adaptation for fitting alternative power source – solar batteries, which will be heating water for employees of the yard and contractors. Estimated time of reconstruction end is planned for the IVth quarter of 2011.

Fryderyk Chopin Sailing Yacht

There's a rare view at GRYFIA Shipyard. Sailing yacht Fryderyk Chopin came to the yard for repair before the sailing season and stands proudly at Gdanskie quay on pontoon dock. What makes the view even more interesting is the possibility to see the whole hull up to mast tops. Scope of works covers among all survey of propeller shaft and rudder, repair of the main gear, and hull painting. Fryderyk Chopin will be our guest for the next week. Election of the Management President for VIth term of the Company

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We inform that as a result of contest, by the Management Board resolution of 19th March 2010, dr Eng Edward Stachoń was appointed for the position of the President of Management Board for the VIth term of Szczecin Shiprepair Yard GRYFIA JSC. He has been on that position since 2004.

In dock No. V of Szczecin Ship Repair Yard GRYFIA SA there is catamaran H/F Villum Clausen owned by Danish company, Bornholms Traffiken A.S. This is one of the fastest passenger-car ferries in the world. The ferry travels between Ystad and Ronne and covers this distance in 1 hour and 15 minutes, reaching speed of 89 km/h. It is made totally of Aluminum and takes over 1000 passengers and 215 passenger cars on board. The Danish carrier owns four ships of this type.

B178-I/23 at Gryfia quay

Szczecin Ship Repair GRYFIA SA won bid for completing construction of the vessel B-178-I/23, which was not finished by Stocznia Szczecińska Nowa. Agreement execution and handing the ship transfer protocol took place in Szczecin on November 9th, 2009. This is container ship with ca. 42 thousand DWT capacity and total length 220 m. On November 10th, 2009 the ship was towed to Gryfia wharf by 5 tug boats. The whole process took ca. 3 hours. Right now the ship is at Gdyńskie Quay.

Gryfia almost under water

The oldest employees of our yard do not remember level of water as high as the one we witnessed on Thursday, October 15th. It made communication with mainland difficult. Service responsible for safety kept on monitoring the water level - had the water raised a couple of centimeters more, the wharfs would have been flooded. High level of water was caused by very strong wind on Baltic Sea, reaching up to 8B, which pushed the water back into the river and caused the backwater phenomenon.As the strong winds calmed down, yard's operation came back to normal.

6th edition of President Cup

Last Saturday, 6th edition of President Cup was held by Yacht Club Gryfia, which has been operating at Yard's premises for nearly 54 years and right now has 46 members. This year 13 vessels participated. The cup traditionally takes place at Dąbie Lake in triangle: Święta river mouth - Lubczyna - Czarne Łąki. Yachts competed in three classes: small (up to 6m long), middle (6 – 7,5m) and big (over 7m long). Three best vessels in each class are rewarded and the cup goes to the yacht which is the fastest of all....

On 01-03 September 2009, jubilee 15th International Shipbuilding and Shipping Exhibition BALTEXPO 2009 took place in the Olivia Hall 1, Bazynskiego street, Gdansk, Poland. Celebration of signing the August Agreements

Just like in the whole country, employees of Szczecin Shiprepair Yard GRYFIA SA commemorated those who fought for human dignity in August 1980. It was already 29th anniversary of signing the August agreement. Main celebrations took place on 30th August at 10.00, by the monument of the Angel of Freedom.

Next Approval Certificate for GRYFIA

We are pleased to inform you that at the end of June GRYFIA Shipyard obtained next approval certificate confirming wide range of our services. Nor–Shipping 2009 already behind us

Again, GRYFIA Shiprepair Yard took part in one of the biggest European branch fairs for companies operating in yard industry and delivering complimentary products and services. First hull at Gryfia's quay

Today, ship's hull constructed by Stocznia Szczecińska Nowa on order of Szczecińska Stocznia Remontowa GRYFIA S.A. was lanched.
