Szczecin Ship Repair Yard GRYFIA JSC won the tender for building of two specialist vessels. Frontal and lineal ice-breakers are to crush the ice on the Oder river. For the contract competed two firms: GRYFIA and Centromost River Yard from Płock. The main criterion of the tender was the price. GRYFIA’s offer was regarded as the most profitable. The worth of the order amounts to over PLN 35 millions.

The barge will transport electrical cables of large diameter (dia. 200-300mm) in Cologne on the Rhine river to location on the North Sea, in order to consume current from wind power plants mounted on sea. Sailing season finished.

Last Friday, on the 24th of September, Yacht Club Gryfia finished officially the sailing season 2011. Last year, the club celebrated its 55. anniversary. The club numbers 18 vessels in aggregate, of which two consecutive are waiting for an official admittance in 2011 (in total 20 vessels including 19 yachts and 1 motorboat). On May 21, at 11.30 a.m., took place the christening of ms "Port Gdynia" , known as B-178-I/23, which was the last container ship launched in shipyard “Nowa” .
